Payroll

Payroll is a cycle of calculations and filings that repeats every pay period, from an employee's first day to their last. We run payroll on schedule, handle the tax deposits and filings, and tell you the amounts ahead of time.

What the service covers

  1. 01New hire paperwork and state new hire reporting
  2. 02Payroll calculation and pay stubs
  3. 03Federal and state payroll tax deposits
  4. 04Quarterly Form 941 and state withholding returns
  5. 05Annual Form 940, Forms W-2 and W-3
  6. 06Final paychecks and payroll records

What happens when you hire someone?

Before the first paycheck, the employee completes Form W-4 for federal withholding and any state withholding form, and you verify work eligibility with Form I-9. States also require employers to report new hires within a set time.

The pay rate, pay schedule and withholding choices on these forms are the basis for every later paycheck, so they are checked at the start.

What does each payroll run include?

Hours, time off, overtime and bonuses for the period come to us. Payroll is prepared from that information, each employee's gross pay down to net pay is shown, and you receive a payment summary.

Withholding depends on each employee's W-4, state rules and year-to-date wages. The calculator on this site gives a rough idea only; actual payroll uses current tables and each employee's own details.
