Tax planning and IRS notices

Tax planning means putting the tax effect of a decision in writing before the decision is made. Our review is based only on current law and your records, and we do not promise a particular outcome.

What does tax planning cover?

Planning means choosing, among the options the law allows, the one that fits your business. The point is to see in advance which path leads to which tax result, within the law.

Every review rests on the law as it stands that day and on your records. When the law changes the answer can change too, so a written opinion states its date and basis.

What should you do when an IRS notice arrives?

First, find out exactly what the notice asks for and the response date printed on it. We organize the documents by period and fill any gaps with you.

Appeal and collection options have their own deadlines. Representation before the IRS is done under a power of attorney, and when a legal question comes up we work alongside a tax attorney.
