Tax preparation
A tax return is a filing with the IRS or a state, and each return has its own period and due date. We list which returns your business and household need, prepare each one on time and tell you in advance what is due.

2026 examples. Figures, rates and dates on this page change by year; check current IRS and state guidance before you rely on them.

How do you keep track of deadlines?
Every taxpayer's list depends on entity type, state and payroll. We build that list when we start working together, check documents before each deadline and contact you ahead of the due date.
The deadline strip on the home page is an example only. Due dates move when they fall on a weekend or legal holiday, and the IRS can postpone them after disasters, so current dates are confirmed with IRS announcements.
What happens if a return is late?
Filing late or paying late can lead to penalties and interest under federal and state law. Because the amounts depend on the tax and the length of the delay, current figures are checked in IRS guidance.
If missing documents put a deadline at risk, we tell you in writing when the return can be completed and whether an extension makes sense. An extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay.
